my problem fmis 4.5's bandwidth detection incorrectly reporting quality of client's available bandwidth on rtmp dynamic streaming. have f4m manifest file 3 media entries, 1 @ 1300kbps, 1 @ 700kbps, , 1 @ 300kbps. i'm using demo player built fmis webroot can see graph of bandwidth changes. player starts playing 300kbps version, ratchets way 1300kbps after 13 seconds, , goes way down 300kbps version 5 seconds later , stays on version. i've duplicated problem on 4 servers, 1 physical server in our datacenter, virtual machine in our vm farm, , 2 servers vms on local computer. every time, same problem occurs, @ same time in video. i've tried changing settings can find relating bandwidth, buffer, , whatnot, no effect. problem persists no matter do. you'd think fmis server vm on local machine have more enough bandwidth play 1300kbps video. server never has cpu, memory, or disk io spikes during playback.
any ideas? rather not have write own bandwidth detection scripts, i'd think ones built fmis , adobe's own flvplayback handle this.
thanks help.
i wouldn't call answer, fix found trying different player altogether. using demo player provided fmis installation, , worked miserably. changed osmf strobe player , worked fine. i'll have @ source see what's going on bandwidth detection.
