Thread: Can't access synaptic

hi,

installed ubuntu 11.04 in new netbook. ran synaptic once, , pressed refresh button. while package list being downloaded, tried moved better location better wifi signal, , connection quit.

tried again, time had logged in network had no internet connection automatically. tried downloading package list again, before realizing logged on wrong network.

logged on correct network , tried again. synaptic gives me following message. there not way through this. when close message synaptic quits.

e: encountered section no package: header
e: problem mergelist /var/lib/apt/lists/us.archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_natty_main_bina ry-i386_packages
e: package lists or status file not parsed or opened.
e: _cache->open() failed, please report.

what's going on? how can fix this?
