Filter for blog - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi guys,

first time posting here. have completed on dozen projects based on joomla , limited php skills have managed around problems. joomla noob friendly!!

today i'm facing wall, dont think complicated. don't have enough time dig through code , find solution. im asking guys help.

i have category called news, source category blog.
i have configured display way want. client sort of filter. month/year drop down on side update button.

pretty straight forward here on, when select month , year , hit update button page reloads articles of category created in month.

i think few months saw similar. url had include variables filter result.

any appreciated. im running on yesterdays timeline. input if isn't direct solution appreciated.
