i've had frustrating few days virtualbox 4.0.8 r71778 running in natty (unity). that's proprietary version of vb installed virtualbox.org repository, not virtualbox-ose version.
not request technical help, unless has suggestions might have missed, rather plea comments.
i've had repeated , unpredictable guest os freezes (mostly) fedora 15, ubuntu oneiric alpha 1 , less lucid, installed own virtual machines. 'mostly' fedora because i've been trying thing installed more trying others. fedora installer regularly freezes part way writing packages drive stage - both live cd iso , dvd iso - although did 1 installation , running guest-additions installed until repeated freezes broke it. virtual vista seems unaffected problem although must admit haven't used yet.
@ first thought had bad ram stick because swapping them around seemed make difference, further experimentation showed not so. i've installed virtualbox same deb machine running natty, run fedora installer virtual guest , guess what? froze more solidly north pole when reached partitioning stage. not believe 4 ram sticks in 1 machine , 2 in faulty, particularly when virtual machines running in vb playing up.
i've looked (briefly) on virtual box forum didn't see complaints (latest) version of vb. i'm wondering if there issue version running in natty host, , linux guest. interested in others' experiences. version of vb using, host, guests?

i tried upgrade 4.x , had problems xserver. played half day , went 3.x host ubuntu 10o4; guest x , lubuntu. think problem of been resolved, more interested in using , not fixing it.
