i'm having trouble installing ubuntu 11.04 in virtualbox vm on win7 host machine. gave vm 1024m ram , 8g drive. have ubuntu-11.04-desktop-i386.iso install image.
each time try install it, hangs on "where you?" timezone selector. last entry in log "ubuntu ubiquity[2818]: switch page timezone".
can move install pane around, no mouse clicks register inside window. network/sound/system menu items in top right work fine (although icon remains waiting icon , no pointer/hand.) there no disk/cd/network activity on indicators.
ideas?
the first thought comes mind is, ditch virtualbox. yes, know, magical. swore long time. until discovered vmware player. can virtualbox , more. lets go far drag , dropping files host guest , vice-versa. and, did mention, free better support? oracle plague sun microsystems. once great product being destroyed.
