Build is finally done--hard drive left

i using adobe premiere cs6 , ae cs6 resolve 9 later

my cameras gh2 (soon gh3) , blackmagic cinema

 

my current build is

corsair 650d

i7 3930k oc 4.2 ghz

corsair h100 cougar vortex fans

gigabyte x79 ud5

64gb of ddr3 @ 1333

geforce 560ti---thinking upgrading 670

 

and these current disks,

crucial m4 256gb

3x wd caviar black

2x seagate 3tb hdds (all 7200)

 

im thinking should use m4 boot/program drive

set caviar black in raid 5 via software

and use raid 1 seagate?

 

i add 1 more caviar black , raid 5 or 0 on 4 and

could add 1-2 more 3tb either raid 5 or 1

 

what guys recommend?

do not use wd blacks in parity raid. because have tler permanently disabled. also, not use software raid raid 5: performance of software raid 5 extremely slow - in fact, slower single disk! not because of low sequential transfer speeds, because of extremely high latency in software controller , because software raid not utilize cpu in efficient manner.

 

and mismatched disks should not raided together. limit choices disk setup.
