Thread: xfconfd not started

xfconfd not start when gdm invoked first within bootprocess.

when login & logout, gdm restarts , xfconfd there! restarting gdm tty1 trick.

xfconfd important features: fn-shortcuts brightness works, restart & shutdown logged in user works, ...

how can fix that? grep -ri xfconf /var/log find installtionprotocols :-/ using xdm change nothing (same behavior).

not able start manual / save session ... did not know command

hi,
after digging around, found out can attempt start xfconfd pasting terminal , press enter:
code:
/usr/lib/xfce4/xfconf/xfconfd
being in libraries system folder, not have it's own short command start it.

xfconfd daemon can't communicate dbus on startup, or times out fast or something. wouldn't know how fix (other people might though), if running '/usr/lib/xfce4/xfconf/xfconfd' in terminal works, i'm sure have xfconfd automatically run on startup creating entry @ applications menu > settings > settings manager > session , startup > application autostart.

click add:
enter following:
name: xfconfd
command: sh /usr/lib/xfce4/xfconf/xfconfd
(or similar)

while there, make sure none of services disabled in application autostart window (such xfce settings helper).

in case need it, service file xfconfd located @ /usr/share/dbus-1/services/org.xfce.xfconf.service , if need make changes settings of xfconf, can use command 'xfconf-query' , use 'xfconf-query --help' more information.

hope helps, or @ least gives point in right direction.
