i'm trying perform full install of 11.04 onto 4gb usb drive, ubuntu installer insists must have @ least 4.4gb free space.
able run iso live 1gb usb drive created lili usb creator , ubuntu installer demands @ least 4.4 gb install .
can give ubuntu entire 4gb drive, how past installer's 4.4 gb requirement?
don't need larger apps gimp/office/games free space. when remove these apps persistent live install via synaptic, run out of space - possibly due cache issues. i'm new , don't know how proceed.
able full-install , boot fedora installer not have 4 gb limitation.
is possible install ubuntu 11.04 onto 4gb drive?
in advance!
you can try installing ubuntu using minimal cd image , build system needed there: http://psychocats.net/ubuntu/minimal
don't think able around 4.4gb requirement full ubuntu install.
edit: perhaps can try using manual partitioning during install , limit size of swap space 256-500mb. or, if have amount of memory (at least 1gb, preferably more), eliminate swap space altogether.
may under 4.4gb size limit.
