How do I combine scanned files?

unfortunately scanning hundreds of pages 1 file. pulls in more 1 page meaning have rescan , starts new file. i'd combine these pages in order haven't determined how yet. here can me. there way to edit scanned files and/or add new pages or paste them file? without paying program if possible. i'd appreciate help, thanks, ma
