Thread: Lenovo Ideapad y560p very choppy

i purchased lenovo ideapad y560p i7 intel processor. wiped windows before trying it, don't know if have bad hardware or not. i'm running ubuntu 11.04 (32 bit) , performing poorly. type this, there lags , text catches up, nautilus can take 10 15 seconds display files, , chromium can take 10 seconds kick off web page request. wife's windows toshiba i5 processor faster computer. have done 2 fresh installations of ubuntu 11.04 (32) , have used native video driver , ati proprietary driver no noticeable difference. computer fast , has crisp response love ubuntu, tanks longer , longer periods. suggestions welceom
