Thread: Can't play commercial DVDs reliably


hi, installed lubuntu 11.04 on aunt's old computer (sony pcv-lx800); had running ubuntu few years latest releases bear. anyway, while installed dvd-rom drive in computer in order play dvd movies. plays cds , non-commercial dvds fine, commercial dvds, doesn't work 80% of time. 20% work, fine.

i've installed necessary packages every new release. using following: libdvdcss, libdvdnav4, , libdvdread4 (via medibuntu repository).

this drive worked fine in old windows 2000 pc, i'm @ lost why there problem. help!

i have exact same problem , im running lubuntu.
