Selecting the background of an object?

hi guys,

 

i selected object (a hand) using magic wand tool , filled in, black.  want select else in image (other hand filled in), , fill in white.  bes way of going this? can fill in hand white, , kind of inverse of image? (the background of office, lots of different colors , objects).

you might this:

 

1. select hand

 

2. add solid color fill layer layer color set black

 

3. select>reselect

 

4. select>inverse

 

5. add solid color fill layer set white

 

you can add solid color layers clicking on adjustment layers icon on bottom of layers panel.
