Premiere Pro CS6 and GTX 680

i upgraded video card gtx 580 gtx 680. @ first, pp did not recognize card , had manually add config(?) file.

my problem pp cs6 makes poor use of new card. render times slower before. when check gpu usage, keeps jumping , down. never reaches above 40 odd percent.

am doing wrong?

hi,

i've running gtx 670 here , works fine...

1. because of system design of gtx 580 , gtx 680 don't see dramatic speed improvements upgrade... (gtx 580 has less shaders working 2x speed of ones in 680)

the gtx 6xx series great cards , have lot of new things offer... need less power , don't hot 5xx series - support 4 displays per card , have other clever enhancements...

but 6xx series don't outperform 5xx in terms of cuda performance - , second question is: need raw renderpower of card???

think why nvidia marketing slow old gpu processors on quadro line of cards "ideal solution" pp?

because more important have drivers , fast video ram have maximum count of cuda cores running...

to gtx 680 limit have add lots of cuda accelerated effects on multiple hd layers , feed video ultrafast raid or ssd's because graphics card fast rest of system...

--> thing slower old card - shouldn't be...
